Secured Debt

A secured debt is a bit different.   When you buy something like a car,  jewelry, appliances or a home, where the lender takes back a security interest (like a mortgage), that debt is secured by the item you purchased.  If you don’t make the payments, the lender has the right to take back the property as in a repossession or foreclosure.
